Things to Do

Hiking & More

Hiking, mountain biking, along with gentle mountain and rock climbing. There are several miles of trails on our 163 acres. We have many large rocks and boulders for gentle rock climbing. You can easily spend a few hours hiking the perimeter, or criss-cross the reserve and make your own discoveries. On our ridgeline we have a panoramic view of the Southern California High Country. You will see outcroppings of huge boulders, both in our park and over the hills around us. Leaving our park, the trails head upwards in a gentle climb toward the north property line. The path follows the fence line all the way to the east property line of the park.

Sacred Rocks Drum Circle

Bring your musical instrument, sit around the campfire and enjoy the drum circle.

We have the perfect plateau to stargaze. If you are an amateur or professional astronomer, you will love our plateau. The plateau is at an elevation just under 4,000 feet, far from the city lights and the coastal glare. Here you have a 360 degree point of view to see the stars. We are careful to minimize the light, so that you can fully enjoy our view of celestial phenomena in the night sky such as the Perseid Meteor Shower. Bring your telescope or binoculars, and enjoy looking at the Milky Way on a night when there is not a full moon.

Horse Camping

We have a secluded area away from the RV Park for horse camping and horseback riding. We have had several riding groups around Southern California bring their horses and portable stalls, and ride through miles of our trails and camp. We can accommodate 20+ rigs with horse trailers.

Modeled after the labyrinth in Chartres Cathedral in France, The Oaks at Sacred Rocks Labyrinth is an impressive 100 feet in diameter, one of California’s largest labyrinths.

The Oaks at Sacred Rocks BBB Business Review

Our Airstream club recently had a weekend rally at The Oaks at Sacred Rock.  Everyone we met there (Jai, Ray, Dan, Alicia, excuse me if I left anyone out!) was very welcoming, friendly and helped make our weekend a success.  They all went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable.  Beautiful peaceful setting with oak trees and walking opportunities everywhere.  Family friendly and I’m sure we will be back! Trish C.

Great family environment.  Enjoyed the nice big oak trees, friendly staff, and it quite.  Camp sites are spacious with plenty of shade.  Definitely look fowarding to camping there again and bringing more friends and family. Dan E.

Loved this place but honestly worried about writing such a great review since it would be awesome to keep this hidden gem a secret.  Our friends and us are from San Diego. This wasn’t too far and the grounds were beautiful. We biked around the perfect loop while other campers waived us by. It was great that while our adventurous kids seeking independence rode around the loop by themselves we parents could keep eye contact on them.  We took morning walks to get those steps in. We swam in the pool and relaxed in the jacuzzi. We had amazing campfires while star-gazing. It was blissful. We stayed in RV/trailers but they offer the cutest little cabins that will allow my “glamping” friends to join in future. Yes, for sure we will be back. Tommi E.

This campground is lovely and feels safe, the pool is especially nice. I unfortunately did not get much of a chance to enjoy it because my dog became ill while I was there and I had to rush her to an emergency vet. The staff and owner could not have been kinder. They helped me look online for a nearby vet, made phone calls for me, and ended up not charging me for my stay because I never got to spend the night. I am looking forward to returning under better circumstances, this is a really nice place with nice people running it. Susan S.
